Proposed amendments to the Home Affairs and Integrity Agencies Legislation Amendment Bill 2017
The submission to the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security’s review of the Proposed amendments to the Home Affairs and Integrity Agencies Legislation Amendment Bill 2017 was prepared by the Law Council.
The Law Council is grateful for the assistance of its National Criminal Law Committee in the preparation of this submission.
The initial Bill presented to the Committee for Parliamentary scrutiny amended four pieces of legislation. The proposed legislative amendments would amend a further 33 Acts to transfer Ministerial responsibility as part of the establishment of the Home Affairs portfolio.
