Consultation on the Consumer Data Right Rules Framework

The submission to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s Consultation on the Consumer Data Right Rules Framework was prepared by the Law Council.

The Law Council acknowledges the assistance of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Section of the Law Council, the Privacy Committee and the Consumer and Competition Law Committee of the Business Law Section of the Law Council, and the Law Society of New South Wales in the preparation of this submission.

The Framework is intended to give stakeholders an understanding of the structure and content of proposed rules that will underpin the implementation of Open Banking, including a phased approach to implementation. It sets out how the ACCC proposes to address particular issues in the Consumer Data Right (CDR) Rules.
