A new decision-making framework for property matters in family law
The Law Council of Australia and its Family Law Section welcome the opportunity to contribute to public submissions on approaches for simplifying the property provisions in the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth) (the Act).
The Consultation Paper poses 26 discussion questions, that are grouped into seven different headings, and in accordance with the request from the Attorney-General’s Department this response has addressed, where applicable, the questions posed.
In this response reference will be made to section 79 and section 75 of the Act without repeating the analogous provisions in section 90SM and section 90SF.
