International Arbitration Committee

The International Arbitration Committee (IAC) was previously known as the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Committee and was renamed in 2016.

The IAC was established in June 2012 (following on from the International Arbitration Focus Group from January 2010).

The primary purpose of the ILS IAC is to:
(a) provide expert guidance and expertise in international arbitration and ADR;
(b) monitor and report on the impact of Australian Government policies on international arbitration and ADR;
(c) liaise with other legal and non-legal organisations in relation to international arbitration and ADR issues;
(d) work collaboratively with other Law Council Sections and committees on international arbitration and ADR to ensure an effective Law Council response.
