The World Masters of Law Firm Management seminar is an invaluable event that provides managers with effective strategies to promote growth and development in law practice.
Recent events have had: Ron Baker present on "Value Pricing: the next real thing for law firms"; Stephen Mason present on "Beyond Herding Cats: leading and motivating a team of talented individuals"; Ed Wesemann present on "Rewards for all", and Professor Tom de Long of the Harvard Business School present "A Harvard Masterclass".
The 2010 event will be on the theme of Attracting and Retaining Senior Level Talent, and will include a number of keynote addresses and an interactive panel session.

John Colvin is the Executive Chairman of Johnson Executive Search. John has over 25 years of consulting experience in addition to nearly 20 years as CEO of major professional services firms. As Executive Chairman, John’s practice focuses on CEO and Board work as well as all segments of the professional services sector where he covers executive search and various aspects of leadership consulting.
Prior to his recent move to Johnson Executive Search, John was a a Partner of Heidrick & Struggles where he specialized in board, CEO and professional services work.
For seven years, John also held the CEO title of Blake Dawson Waldron, one of the world's largest legal firms, where business tripled in size and profit per partner nearly tripled under his leadership. In addition, he was the CEO of the publicly listed recruitment firm Hamilton, James & Bruce for two years.
Nicky Wakefield is the lead Partner for the NSW Human Capital Consulting Practice at Deloitte. Nicky started her career in the strategy consulting practice of PwC and completed her MBA in strategy and change in 1995. Educated an economist Nicky made the move from strategy consulting to people about 10 years ago after beginning a diploma of psychotherapy and falling in love with human psychology. Her combined background is perfect for her current role where she focuses on all aspects of people and performance. She is particularly passionate about Change Management, Talent and Performance, Leadership and Culture. For more than 15 years she has worked in the public sector, private sectors and professional services providing management consulting and advisory support on people and change. Much of Nicky's experience has been as a change and people leader working on large scale complex programs. Nicky has lived and worked in the USA, Singapore, Brunei, Zimbabwe, London and Amsterdam.
Daljit Singh is Director of Talent Management with the Global Talent Management team of Baker & McKenzie, based in the Sydney office of Baker & McKenzie.
Daljit's responsibilities are to lead Talent Management in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as global projects. Global projects he has led have included the development of a global development framework for all lawyers world wide, leadership training for partners, a global performance management process for associates, and a global recruitment and selection toolkit.
Prior to joining Baker & McKenzie, Daljit was with KPMG, where he held senior HR roles both in Australia and with the global KPMG organisation. He holds Masters degrees in Economics, Education and Human Resources.
Kriss Will is the Managing Director of Kriss Will Consulting Pty Ltd, a consultancy firm which specialises in management consulting and training & development. Kriss has a Masters of Business Administration and an honours Arts degree (double major in Psychology).
She has worked in professional services for over 20 years, holding in-house roles as an HR Manager, Marketing Manager and General Manager, and established her own management consultancy business in 1996.
Kriss works as management consultant, trainer and facilitator for a number of organisations. Much of her work involves advising and coaching partners and managers in the effective and productive management of people, organisational planning, and change management.
