Who is eligible for membership?

Members of the Law Council of Australia's constituent bodies (the Bars and Law Societies) may join Law Council Sections. Persons not eligible to join a Bar or Law Society may be able to join a Law Council Section.

What are the benefits of membership?

  • Members receive the Section's quarterly journal, the Australian Law Management Journal, Australia's premier legal practice management journal;
  • Members are eligible for discounts on registration fees for Section and Law Council events, including the Leading Edge Practices Tour, Australian Property Law Conference, and World Masters conferences;
  • Members have access to a range of discounts and corporate plan arrangements for domestic and international travel, accommodation, and hire cars;
  • Members are also eligible to join any, or all, of the Section's Special Interest Groups at no further cost, thereby receiving further benefits including:
    • Group newsletters and information bulletins on the latest developments in your area of practice;
    • Invitation to attend 'Member Only' boardroom briefings on topical issues and developments in your area of practice;
    • The opportunity to participate in online discussion groups and bulletin boards in your area of practice.
