International Law Section
The International Trade and Business Focus Group, with a focus on international trade and business issues and working with other organisations in encouraging exchange of advice and information. The Focus Group is co-chaired by Mr Andrew Percival and Professor Jeff Waincymer.
The 2010 International Trade Law Symposium will be held in the second half of 2010. Preparations are well underway and more detailed information will be available in due course.
The International Trade & Business Focus Group has established the "Review of Bilateral and Regional Trade Agreements Working Group". The Working Group comprises representatives from the Trade & Business Focus Group and Law Council consituent bodies. The Chair of the Working Group, ILS Deputy-Chair Andrew Percival, met with the Productivity Commission on 12 February to discuss the review. The submission is due on 8 March 2010.
