The ILS - Immigration Lawyers' Association of Australasia (ILAA) Focus Group is representing practising immigration lawyers throughout the Asia / Pacific region. Immigration lawyers are best equipped to meet the challenges of providing expert advice to clients who are attempting to navigate through an extremely complicated system. The ILS - ILAA Focus Group seeks to further promote and improve the representation of immigrants and provide information and services to its membership. The Focus Group is chaired by Ms Maria Jockel.
The Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Senator Chris Evans, has accepted our invitation and will give a keynote address at the 4th CPD Immigration Law Conference. The Conference will be hosted by the Immigration Lawyers Association of Australasia Focus Group of the International Law Section in cooperation with the Law Institute of Victoria and Russell Kennedy. It will be held at Russell Kennedy in Melbourne on 26 & 27 March 2010. The aims of the Conference are to provide legal professionals with CPD points accreditation, to highlight and discuss important immigration law issues and to provide participants with a forum to exchange experiences. The Conference Dinner, included in the registration fee, will be held at the RACV Club on 26 March 2010.
