The ILS - Austrade Roundtable was launched in November 2004 with the convening of a Steering Group consisting of Victorian practitioners with experience in international trade matters and a senior representative from Austrade. The co-chairs of the Roundtable are Mr Andrew Hudson and Mr Ross Becroft. The ILS has also estblished a Roundtable in Brisbane which is co-chaired by Mr Robin Lonergan and Ms Lisa Toohey.
The ILS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade). Mr Russell Miller AM, the immediate past chair of the ILS, signed the MoU on behalf of the ILS at a ceremony in Canberra on 16 September 2008. This MoU will further strengthen the excellent relationship between the ILS and Austrade. Since the establishment of the ILS – Austrade Roundtable in 2004, more than 10 roundtables have been held on a broad range of topics such as free trade agreements, Islamic finance and access to foreign markets.
