An historic event took place at the Law Council Secretariat this month.
Representatives from the Bar Council of India visited the Law Council for the first time, signing a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the process.
The MoU was the first ever signed by the Bar Council with any counterpart legal body and is a significant step forward in the growing relationship between the legal professions of India and Australia.
I jointly signed the document with Bar Council Chair, Mr Gopal Subramanium, the Solicitor-General of India.
The MoU formally acknowledges our shared goals and willingness to maintain a strong and ongoing professional relationship.
