Section Executive

The BLS Executive is elected every 2 years. There are currently 12 members, drawn from the States and Territories.

The BLS Executive meets at least 4 times a year in different capital cities. It may hold ad hoc meetings to deal with specific issues during the year, but these are usually (though not exclusively) held by teleconference.

The agendas for BLS Executive meetings typically include supervision of:

• Financials of the Section;
• Overview of Work of the Committees;
• Supervision of the planning and execution of Workshops;
• Membership of the Section and of Committees;
• Relationships with relevant government representatives and authorities, and other bodies, including the LCA, constituent bodies of the LCA and the International Bar Association.
