Aboriginal Land Rights

The Law Council supports the recognition and protection of Aboriginal land rights, including freehold and leasehold interest established under land rights legislation in various jurisdictions. The Law Council has also opposed any weakening of the Aboriginal lands permit system in the Northern Territory against the wishes of Aboriginal people.
