Public Register of Briefing Entities

Adoption of the Policy by Briefing Entities

Since its introduction, the Policy has been taken up by state governments and agencies, law practices and many other organisations and businesses ("briefing entities").

In 2009, the Law Council Directors approved the development of the Equitable Briefing Policy webpage on the Law Council website which provides the facility for briefing entities to formally adopt the Policy and submit annual reports online to the Law Council. Briefing entities may choose to have their name published on Law Council's website as having formally adopted the Policy or to remain anonymous. A list of all briefing entities which have adopted the policy and who have chosen to have their briefing entity's name published will be publicly accessible on this website.

If your briefing entity would like to register as having formally adopted the Policy, please click here to register. During registration, you will be asked whether you wish your origination to be listed on the Law Council's public register. You will receive a confirmation email following the registration.

To date, the following entities have subscribed to the Policy:

  • New South Wales Bar Association (18 February 2010)
  • Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (NSW) (31 March 2010)
  • Public Interest Advocacy Centre (6 May 2010)
