Tort Law Reform

The Law Council continues to work to reform Australia's personal injury laws and to stimulate public debate about the rights of injured people.

The Law Council has recently been heavily involved in two highly successful campaigns-one in Tasmania, the other in New South Wales-aimed at ensuring fair compensation for people injured through no fault of their own.

Through these campaigns, the Law Council joined forces with fellow peak bodies and other organisations to highlight the unfairness of the personal injury law reforms and encourage governments to re-think the changes.
