Country Fact Sheets

The Country Fact Sheets below provide an overview of the regulation of legal services in the profiled jurisdictions and take the form of ‘frequently asked questions' which address the key issues relating to admissions and providing links to more in-depth sources of information. Each fact sheet addresses the following specific topics:

• the basis of government and law in the jurisdiction;
• the nature of legal profession regulation and representation;
• the rules governing fly-in/fly-out practice; foreign legal consultants; and foreign lawyer admissions respectively;
  
• the extent of Australian legal presence; and
  
• any other unique issues affecting foreign lawyers in the jurisdiction
