2010 is going to be a challenging year for the Law Council, but I believe we are well-placed to achieve a great deal across a broad range of areas.
This year will be a crucial period for legal profession reforms. The Law Council fully supports the initiative of the Council of Australian Governments to reform the legislation governing the regulation of the legal profession.
This regulation will create a single, uniform Legal Profession Act which will allow seamless national practice and benefit both lawyers and consumers of legal services.
It has been a challenging process but we are on track to achieve our goals.
